Evening Meditation | 28 May 2015

Brad J. Gray

“The paradox of our time in history is that we have bigger houses and smaller families . . . We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life . . . We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.”

Wait, Child

Coming Full Circle

waiting1

Genesis 8:6-12 (NIV) – After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark7 and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth.8 Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground.9 But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark.10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark.11 When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the…

Christians are the real X-Men

Inspirational Christian Blogs

x-men

Super hero comic books and movies abound these days. One such famous comic is called the X-Men.

According to the comics, the X-Men are people with special abilities and powers. They were humans with a genetic trait called an X-gene, resulting in mutation and allowing them to develop super human powers. Before they became X-Men, they were ordinary people. But after, they became new people and received special powers. In a sense, they are now “ex-men”, because they are no longer the old people they used to be.

Paul says something similar about us. He wrote:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NKJV).

Christians are like X-Men

When you became a Christian, you became a new creation, new person. You are no longer the old person you used to be. You…

Road to Recovery

unheardunspokencogitationum

The road to recovery is long
Still somewhere in between
Trying to make sense of life
The past still lingers around
A shadow of doubt settles in
Your eyes wanting answers
Wishing to move on freely
Put one step forward at a time
These lingering thoughts will
Fade slowly like background
Noise that you will learn to
Accept as you move towards
The future with doubtful hope
Listen to that calling and learn
To believe in it no matter how
Difficult it may seem as the
Road was never meant to be
Easy so be brave knowing
The demon calls you back in
The dark place and you may
Stumble and fall but as long
As you don’t turn back and let
Go of hope, peace will find you
Hold on to that glimmer you saw
In yourself for it holds answers
You search for in the darkness

Don’t Stop Now!

JUSTIN MINOTT

This is a message for those who are on the verge of giving up in the things God has called them to do for Him. Just because your progress isn’t obvious doesn’t mean your faith isn’t working. Don’t stop now. He who began a great work in you and through you will bring it to completion in His timing. The world needs what God has placed inside of you! Your obedience to not stop or give up in the things of God will change someone else’s life.

Are you a person who has lost their passion? Cry out to God to restore the passion that you lost and He will answer every single time. Are you a person who is on the verge of giving up on God’s mission? Tell God how you feel and He will direct your steps.
